2019 Dive Training Grant winners

Ocean Wishes is proud to announce the 2019 Dive Training Grant winners. Ocean Wishes donated $3,000 to the Women’s Diver Hall of Fame Foundation and the Scuba Show scholarship. Below are the three of the winners of the individual award.

Age 11

What or who inspired you to want to become a diver?
I have been inspired to become a scuba diver by a few things. My family has divers, I love nature, travel, and animals, and I have been to the Scuba Show two times.
My parents scuba dive, and I’ve always wanted to join them. I want to travel worldwide and see everything above and below the water. Scuba diving is a good family activity that gets people off electronics and into nature. I have gone to the Scuba Show in Long Beach for the past 2 years, and I love to look at all of the places I could hopefully scuba dive someday. I also love to look at the pictures that were taken underwater. In my first year at the scuba show, one of the people in the booth gave me a big picture of a turtle. I have had it in a picture frame since then and look at it daily. I want to dive with the turtles!
