Who We Are: Ocean Wishes is a non-profit organization providing children the opportunity for education through ocean-oriented experiences and hands-on programs to create compassion, love, and protection of marine life and environments. We work locally and globally to educate children and adults on protecting and preserving marine environments.
Kids Sea Camp Inc., founded by Margo and Tom Peyton in 2000, is the primary sponsor for Ocean Wishes. Tom and Margo Peyton are the founders of Ocean Wishes, and the Ocean Wishes Foundation is a designated corporate partner of Kids Sea Camp and Family Dive Adventures.
Ocean Wishes is funded by donations and sponsorship from Kids Sea Camp, individual contributions, donations from other foundations, service clubs, and corporations, and fundraising, revenue from artist donations, and fundraising events.
Granting Wishes That Makes A Difference
Our Make-an-Ocean-Wish program has a life-changing impact on children, their families, referral sources, donors, sponsors, and entire communities. Through education and experiences provided by Ocean Wishes and sponsors, children from the United States and countries worldwide can share the love, power, and grace of our underwater world.
Ocean Wishes financially contributes funds and sponsors scholarships for children in the USA and abroad to become PADI certified Divers.
How it works: Through a Make an Ocean Wish submission, any organization or individual can wish for an extraordinary child aged 10 through 15 to be given a PADI Jr. Open Water Diver course. Each year, depending on the funds raised, several children will be awarded this local PADI diver scholarship, and the funds will be paid directly to their closest PADI dive store for the course.
Ocean Wishes can also grant several Ocean Wish trips through Kids Sea Camp each year. These trips will provide an adult and child with seven nights and six days, all meals, and a whole Kids Sea Camp experience. These trips are provided to Ocean Pals, Oceans for Youth, and many other nonprofit organizations, as well as outreach programs to protect our oceans and educate communities through auctions and events.
