Jog, run, or walk to Save the Ocean!

For all attendees of the Kids Sea Camp Little Cayman, Thanksgiving 2023. This year marks the inaugural first annual RUN FOR THE OCEAN 5K to benefit Ocean Wishes. Tom Peyton, Jeffery, and Adam Sankoff invite you to run fast, jog easy, or walk a slow course right from the gate of the Little Cayman Beach resort. Complete your holiday with a family-friendly fun run where every participant gets a medal and the fame and adulation of being met by the KSC staff at the finish line. Have a vacation giving back to the ocean that gives us so much. All proceeds go to Ocean Wishes!

As a side note, Ocean Wishes will do a “Run for the Ocean” every year for all future Kids Sea Camps during Thanksgiving week. Last year, Tom Peyton, the President of Ocean Wishes, lost his father, Lou, after a long battle with Parkinson’s. His father was a long-time distance runner, including many marathons. Although Tom will be running for the Ocean, he will also run for his father, Lou.

IMPORTANT QUESTIONS

What is the course? Departing from the gate of the Little Cayman Beach Resort, the route travels east for 1.55 miles before reversing to return to the finish. Click here to see the course.

What is the entry fee? $20 per person. All money collected goes directly to Ocean Wishes. “Ocean Wishes is a non-profit organization making undersea dreams come true for children worldwide. We strive to promote education and foster the protection and preservation of all marine environments. Ocean Wishes can make a wish that makes a difference.”

Do I need to run to participate? No! Runners, joggers, and walkers are all welcome and encouraged to participate!

I don’t want to run or walk, but I’d like to help, can I? Yes! You can donate to Ocean Wishes in any capacity, and we could use help on race day. We will need people to help record finish times and hand out medals. Please email Tom Peyton if you would like to help.

When is the race? The race will be held at 4 p.m. on November 23rd.

Are you posting results? We will record results and post them at Thanksgiving dinner so you can celebrate your accomplishment!

General Donations: These donations are used for the numerous not-for-profit organizations we support worldwide. It also could be used for charity donations on island trips in association with the Kids Sea Camp and Family Dive Adventures. We make donations year-round to causes such as The Philippines Mountain School, The Women’s Divers Hall of Fame, diving scholarships for underprivileged kids, Coral restoration funding, gear supplies to beginner divers in third-world countries, and numerous other causes.
