Is it time again to run for the ocean

For all Kids Sea Camp Blackbird Caye attendees in Belize this Thanksgiving 2025, the second annual RUN FOR THE OCEAN 5K will be held to benefit Ocean Wishes. With the support of Black Bird Caye and  Ocean Wishes, President Tom Peyton invites you to run, jog, or walk a gentle beachside fundraiser in Belize. This family-friendly fun run guarantees every participant the admiration of the Kids Sea Camp and Ocean Wishes staff at the finish line. Join us in giving back to the ocean and providing so much. All proceeds will go to Ocean Wishes.

Ocean Wishes sincerely thanks Jeffery and Adam Sankoff for initiating this event last year in Little Cayman. Their efforts, along with those of the participating families, helped raise over $7,000.

If you are not attending the Belzie KSC week, you are still welcome to make the $50 donation and share a Facebook post about your job or your running for the ocean on the Ocean Wishes Facebook page.

As a side note, Ocean Wishes will hold a “Run for the Ocean” event every year during Thanksgiving week for all future Kids Sea Camps. In 2022, Tom Peyton, the President of Ocean Wishes, lost his father, Louis W. Peyton Jr., after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Tom will participate in the “Run for the Ocean” event each year in honor of his father.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

• Course: The event will take place on the beautiful island of Blackbird Caye in Belize.
• Entry Fee: $50 per person. All proceeds go directly to Ocean Wishes, a non-profit organization that makes undersea dreams come true for children worldwide.
• Participation: Walkers, joggers, and runners are all welcome and encouraged.
• Donations: If you don’t want to run or walk but would like to help, you can donate to Ocean Wishes in any capacity. Volunteers are also needed on race day to record finish times and distribute medals. Please email Tom Peyton if you would like to offer your assistance. tom@oceanwishes.org
• Race Date: November 27, 2025, the afternoon before the Thanksgiving feast.
• Results will be recorded and posted at the Thanksgiving dinner so you can celebrate your accomplishment.

General Donations: These contributions support various not-for-profit organizations worldwide. They can also be used for charity donations on island trips associated with Kids Sea Camp.
